Signals
Tandem surfaces specific, actionable signals about your accounts instead of a single health score. Signals tell you exactly what's wrong and why.
What is a signal?
A signal is a discrete event or condition that indicates something needs attention. Examples:
- A milestone is past its due date
- No activity on a plan for 14+ days
- A customer-facing task has been blocked for more than 3 days
- No plan review has been completed in 30 days

Viewing signals
Signals appear in two places:
- Today brief — your morning view shows critical signals across all accounts
- Plan cockpit — the signal strip at the top of each plan shows signals for that account

Signal states
Each signal has a state:
- Active — the condition is still present
- Resolved — the condition cleared automatically (e.g. a task was completed)
- Dismissed — you acknowledged the signal and don't want to see it again
Why not a health score?
A single 0–100 score hides what's actually wrong. When a score drops from 72 to 61, you don't know if it's because a task is overdue, a stakeholder left, or the customer hasn't logged in. Signals give you the specific information you need to take action.
