Limits
Tandem applies limits to keep the platform fast and fair for everyone.
Entity caps
These are hard limits on the number of items in your account:

These limits apply equally to plans created via the UI, AI generator, templates, and the Claude.ai MCP connector.
Daily plan creation limit
You can create up to 10 plans per day across all creation methods. Trusted accounts get a 20/day limit.
The count resets at midnight UTC.
MCP rate limits (Claude.ai connector)
When using Tandem through the Claude.ai MCP connector:

| Write operations (create, update, complete) | 30 / hour |
On a limit hit, you'll see a rate limit error with a retry_after hint. Wait an hour and try again.
What to do when you hit a limit
Entity cap reached: You've accumulated a lot of data — great! Archive or delete old plans to make room for new active ones.
Daily plan limit: You've created 10+ plans today. The limit resets at midnight UTC.
MCP rate limit: You're making a lot of tool calls. Slow down or batch your requests. Wait an hour to reset.
Need a higher limit? Contact support — we can increase limits for accounts with legitimate high-volume needs.
